Friday, July 31, 2009  first trip in Germany out of the baden wuerttemburg region! nach München! munich= city of oktoberfest and weisswurst and BMW museum and bayern Muenchen football club and loads of fun! :) in the photo are Germans who were high on bier and who coudnt stop taking photos of us and whom we joined in singing FliegerLied and treated us to a shot each! danke schon! :) i regret not travelling to more cities in Germany:( and i havent even gone to Berlin! :( but munich was great. so glad i went there before going back home :(  bretzel+ bier= happy us :) love germany!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  took a one hr plus train ride to salzburg, austria, which was the filimg site of The sound of music and the birth place of mozart! we were so excited seeing this road because it was the road in the film, where maria and the kids were hiding inthe trees while the captain drove home! :) and some american tourists were dancing down the path, mimicking maria and the kids! :)  beautiful salzburg..it feels so nice to be able to live within the mountains and the alps! XOXO 3:08 AM Wednesday, July 29, 2009 qiling was obviously in tears as well as mira. felt very sad too, but the tears couldnt come. feeling sucks. have been feeling sad for the last couple of days cos this coming fri/sat, many people will be leaving and going home. having to say stuff like " in case i dun see you again, goodbye" sucks. these few days will be a time of last hugs, last kisses and farewells. stuttgart wont be the same without everyone :( XOXO 3:07 AM Tuesday, July 28, 2009  birthday boy. FELIZ COMPLIANOS AMIGO! :)  the people who couldnt be bothered to dress up. hahaha maybe also because it was freezing! fabrizio and daniel had to change out of their greek costumes halfway cos they were too cold!!!!!  greek gods and goddesses! :) XOXO 3:06 AM Monday, July 27, 2009  ana belen! i am going to miss you so much after u go back to spain! going to miss your loud laughter and your loud talking and your spainish omelette! thanks for taking the time to teach me how to do cook the spainish omelette! i will never forget you and the good times we had together! :) XOXO 3:05 AM Saturday, July 25, 2009  us on the stolen chair and the worse thing was everyone partied so hard, (yes even adrian! i was so surprised! never heard that he was drunk before! )that the two toilets in the house were full of puke. yuckssss. and it was so funny cos franz and mikel jumped into someone's garden and stole the garden lounge chair! and yes they did insist they didnt really stole it cos they planned on returning it, just in a few months time.. when its winter.. hahahhaa  only franz can still look good carrying that obnoxious jaegermeister backpack and after one night of puking.. haha  leberwurst. liver wurst. food of the morning which everyone was clamouring for. seeing the germans devouring those were not a pretty sight. typical german food..  franz's bier dispenser which he borrowed from his friend. now u know why germans drink 24/7.  yay! enjoying our free sample from starbucks before going to kaufland to shop for groceries.  kaufland. supermarket of the year :)  saw this and chris and Adrian decided to bake a cake called the DONAU WELLEN :)  THE PERFECT CAKE. :) happy to be living with neighbours who can cook :) XOXO 3:04 AM Wednesday, July 22, 2009 and i have never felt so sure i am going to fail any exams until the past two days. like seriously. i know i am always going like " oh no i am so going to fail the paper" but this time i really mean it! on monday was syntax exam. and me and qiling studied a grand total of 5 lectures out of ten. ok for me 5 i think she went on to 7. but as we all know the first lecture is always crap.. all the admin stuff... and the important stuff are always at the back. as we were both so well prepared, we plucked up our courage, took the s bahn, reached the exam venue, and actaully had the audacity to ask the lecturer if we could take the exam a week later.. we boldly mentioned the fact that we were both erasmus students and he bravely told us we had to take the exam that day, no matter what. and the exam was a joke. qiling and i were both just incredulously flipping through the pages, scanning for hints of familiarity, but alas! what we had was a french paper. and of course, the lecturer made no attepmts to hide the fact that he was highly amused and sniggering at our pathetic attepmts to finish the paper..sigh. and on tuesday the 22 july, the last paper for me! semantics. i thought i was prepared. i studied 7 out of ten lectures and if everything goes nicely, i thought i will scrap a pass. but i didnt understand why the prof had to give me a paper in italian. :( sigh. academic life of an erasmus student. XOXO 10:09 PM Tuesday, July 21, 2009 it was not an elaborate cake but i thought the gesture was really sweet! like i would never have expected them to be the ones to celebrate my first minute of adulthood with! :) like who can imagine big tall german boys baking a cake for alycia! hahah (sorry i cant help being touched by the cake esp when no boys has baked anything for me before. wahahahah )  stephan, chris and adrian preparing the cake with german efficiency. ; ) ( i have never seen a cake whipped up so fast before! hahaha  Franz who only knows how to play with the whipped cream. hahah  before blowing out the candle.. :)  neighbour from hell with the birthday cake.  yay. my lovely german boys. who were not so lovely at the beginning.  birthday dinner at columbus. quite sians cos i had an exam the next day and everyone had to study too. so i didnt ask more people :( but it was great that i didnt have to eat dinner on my birthday alone. so THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO CAME! really appreciate it when all are so busy!  birthday present from Zollin. :)  birthday present from swee foo. thanks for going around to cllect the messages! its really sweet and its such an international shirt with so many languages! i love the shirt alot alot. thanks so much! :):)  thanks babe for the gift! it was really great how you turned up at my doorstep with the gift! :) and most surprising of all... . . . . .  Birthday gift from the neighbour from hell! i really couldnt believe it when he gave it to me. like Hello????!!!! since when does neighbour from hell does sweet things like this when his philosophy is : everything i do, is to get the girl to bed me??? hahah and its all too unbelieveable when i still remember how he terrorised me so much last time, i didnt even dare to come back home to my own room. i seriously doubt its the same neighbour from hell we are talkign abt now man.. ok not like i am missing the old mikel. hehe. ahhhhhhhhhhh i feel so loved and happy and lucky now. (jia min how did u guess my secret plan!!) anyway i need suggestions on how to decorate swee foo's kitchen that day! remember ..LOVE!!!!!!! XOXO 8:19 PM Wednesday, July 15, 2009 in the class, me and qiling felt very marginalised again becasue the class was filled to the brim and everyone was seated at the tables already. yes everyone except me and qiling. so the poor marginalised us went to the back of the class and sat ourselves on some spare random chairs and was gettign ready to tackle the french paper without a table. i was still secretly hoping that by some form of divine intervention, only whatever i have studied will be tested (in which case, the test paper will be empty). untilllll....................... salvation came. in the form of a very pretty prof who has on one occasion told me and qiling to shut up(we were talking too much) and who refers to us as the erasmus students. and she delivered the best news ever. she said: " i thought i told you erasmus students dont have to take the exams! " and yes she was bloody surprised to see us. COS WE FREAKING DO NOT HAVE TO TAKE THE EXAM AND WE GOT 7 ECTS CREDITS!!!!!!!!! LIKE WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and yes. me and qiling couldnt belive our ears, went up to her in front of the entire class (who were clearly anxious) and repeatly asked if we were still going to get a pass for the module. and she said " yes". nicest yes i have ever heard. and of course there were two stupid asians jumping and squealing and laughiing in the corridor. just becasue they didnt have to take the exam. now u know why i love germany :):):):) XOXO 7:44 AM Thursday, July 09, 2009 ok back to greys. all i can say is, i still stand by the motion that shows that are dubbed over sucks! worse thing is, after they dubbed over greys, I FREAKING DUN UNDERSTAND ANYTHIGN ANYMORE! :( and everything was in german, even the super long advertisement.it felt kind of surreal, cos i finally felt like i am truly in germany. other times, i feel like i am in spain or latin america becasue of the people i hang out with and the conversations ard me! so thank u for donating the tv mikel! will work hard on my listening comprehension= more tv. hahaha and yahoo rocks. cos its really accurate. its really cold in germany again. not even cooler but COLD. ITS NOW OFICIALLY 13 DEGREESall the other erasmus students are like *WHAT KIND OF A SUMMER IS THIS*, OR *ONLY GERMNAY HAS THIS KIND OF SUMMER* and me and qiling are secretly feeling happy inside. hahah so yeps. time to take out the jacket again! :)) but bad news is, next week is gg to be warm again. yikess. max 29 degrees. XOXO 6:41 AM Tuesday, July 07, 2009 XOXO 7:11 AM Monday, July 06, 2009  my receipt and my Versicherungskarte (insurance card)  my medicine! i was so bloody pissed cos i though it will be free. guat sim got hers for free but i had to collect the medicine from the apotheke. and upon collection, the stupid girl told me i had to pay 5 euros! like #^$%^#%#!!!  healthy living.:) went to kaufland and i saw the tomatoes. they look so red and nice and lovely, i had to get one. and yes. after all the salads here, i think i am starting to enjoy the taste of fresh uncooked vegetables :) OMELA NG! ARE U READING THIS????? going to start eating healthy from now on!and it was so cheap too! 15 cents only.. hehe ok actually i dunno how much it cost in sg. oh wells. XOXO 6:05 PM Saturday, July 04, 2009 it was so bloody hot, even walking home from the s bahn station is unbearable. the scorching sun just come bearing down into ur every pore and for once i wish i was back in singapore where i could at least hide in some air con building or open my umbrella without lookign stupid. and lessons were unbearable because all the bloody classrooms have no air conditioners or fans! imagine! not even fans! all my notes multi functioned as a fan this week.. yes the europeans adore the sun. when it get sunny, they have a picnic, lie in the sun to suntan and basically do everything they can to soak up whatever sunshine is available to them. being a sinagporean, i obviously cannot understand this mindset. hahaha but the heat is really unbearable when there is no fan or air con in my room. the only consolation is, at least its not humid here and at night, it gets back to 10 over degrees again. but bear in mind that the night here only comes ard 9.30pm. i was resigned to such horrible or even worse heat/weather for the rest of summer, or for the rest of my time here but someone told me ytd that in Germany, its seldom this hot and such hot weather will only last a week. so by next week, it will become cool agin. CAN U IMAGINE MY JOY UPON HEARING THAT????? and i checked the weather forecast and for next week, max temp are all below 23degrees! woohooooo! nice... i hope yahooweather forecast is reliable. hahaha XOXO 5:18 PM Thursday, July 02, 2009  i love this! mojito! funny how i have never ordered this in sg. but i am really addicted to the citrus taste. :P and i couldnt even have seconds cos it ran out like so fast!  Mira! birthday girl :)  we had to move out of the kitchen cos it was too nosiy and the police came. ( they had to make their appearance at every party! booo! party spoiler.. but we just moved the party out out the kitchen and into the open.  another party in the school. organised by the civil engineering faculty. hahah u seee, the germans cant get enough of parties. after every hall has had its party or sommerfest, its now the faculties' turn. hehe and they actually turn the school into like a disco place. hehee just too bad they dun play r&B/hip hop. always house. yikes.  sweaty and hot from all the dancing. i love erasmus. we always have the most fun! :) XOXO 9:21 AM |
