Saturday, February 28, 2009  Schlossplatz! there is an old castle and a new one here! next to each other. i supposed the new schloss was restored? not too sure too.. hahaha decided to make full use of our day trip ticket so we went to the mercedes benz museum in bad -camstatt to explore!  the cool audio guide. u press it at something and the explanation will just come on..   me and the cool mercedes bus. :)  love this car! love the colour!  me driving my first mercedes! haha although it loooks too big for me.. i prefer my cooper. hehe  swee foo in his race car.. had dinner at the hauptbahnhof after that. decided to eat burger king even though the prices were exorbitant. seriously dollar for dollar. so both a sg burger king mean and one in germnay cost 6sgd and 6 euro respectively.. but i was too hungry.. so too bad for the wallet. went to a mexican party with marcela and arthur after that and it was my first party in Germany! hahah couldnt understand anything though(duh) cos it was a mexican party and everyone was talking in spainish..but the atmosphere was great. pple were just drinking, hugging and this thing involving a tube attached to ta funnel where u just have to down whatever was poured into the funnel. hahah.. deathly.. had tequila shots and bier(but i was ok!) haha and left after a while cos someone was complaining that we were making to0omuch noise.. hahah oh! and yes and i just realised tequila came from mexico and its damn darn cheap there! hah marcela bought a bottle over for only ard 5 eurossss! like unglaublich! hahah ok. ciao. XOXO 1:10 AM Friday, February 27, 2009  konigstrasse by morning. cold! and the store wasnt opened but i squealed at the sight of H&M! cant wait to try on all the clothes. hehe  by the lake in school. with swee foo's buddy here. she is so tall! keep thinking of aly. hahah so we met her and swee foo could move in! so we went to check out of the hostel and we brought all our lugguage to school. swee foo was to move into his hostel while arthur had arrange for me to stay with another of his buddy, marcella ,from mexico (who was luckier and could move into her room already)  can u spot the remnants of the snow??? actually iwas damn disappointed cos the snow was all melting already.s i just saw puddles of snow everywhere.. the lakes were still frozen though, although its just a very thin layer of ice.. :( no more snow! asked arthur if it would snow again and he told me the possiblilty wasnt high. which meant no. :(  impt pple! swee foo and qi ling! after settlign all the stuff arthur, me, swee foo, qiling and marcella went to the vahingen centre to do grocery shopping! but we had lunch before that, which was turkish food(cheapest food in germany)  my meal for the days to come.. a turkish yukta! looks delicious but eat that consecutively and u wont want to eat it anymore. hahaha till tmr! XOXO 4:30 AM Thursday, February 26, 2009 so after the long and highly uncomfortable flight, swee foo and i had to struggle with our lugguages and carry everything all the way to the train station. (which wasnt near where we were anyway) and waited in the cold for our train. everything seems highly blown out of proportion... so big and foreign... i am like in giantland or sth.. lucily swee foo was there. otherwise i could have die with my overly ambitious troop of bags.  with my lugguages! which doesnt look heavy but seriously.. dragging it from terminal to terminal trying to find the train station wasnt easy!  the ICE! inter city express if i am not wrong.. the train that will take you to all the european countries! and the train was so much nicer and more comfortable than the flight! more spacious and the scenery was amazing. yes! because i saw pockets of snow covered ground! :) so after one hour's journey on the train i met qiling and arthur (my buddy from the buddy program thing) and i was so freaking cold! hahah the cold air just whipped your face and when the wind blows its like omg so cold.. but none the less, i was grinning non-stop and enjoying every minute of it.. cos yes! i finally felt cold instead of hot. wahahahah but we had a problem.. didnt book a hostel before hand so we had to go ard dragging our lugguages. after a while the cold wasnt so fun anymore. hands felt so numb from the cold! first hostel we travelled to was overbooked so we had to seek a second option. did the clever thing by calling the hostel before we actually went there. in the end, we found one a bit further from the city. but i love it cos it was so clean and nice. after leaving the lugguages at the hostel( we couldnt check in yet) we left to explore the campus! :) set up my bank acct and walked ard before going to arthur's place to activate my phone card.  arthur placing my cup of hot tea outside the window cos i wanted cold tea. (we were trying to test if the naturally cold air would work better than the refrigerator. hahaha he is quite nice although my first impression of him sucks. thought he was so chauvanistic and all.. always hurrying along and not waiting for the rest of us and he looked really fouled temper. (in the end i found out that he was just super worried abt my accomodation). he is really nice when u get to know him better and he made my first meal in Germany!  first meal in Germany! Baguette! although the frozen kind. but it tasted good :) went back to the hostel to meet swee foo and it was ard 4 plus already. we wanted two single rooms and we comfirmed it already. but somehow they screwed up and we got a double room instead. :( but it was ok.. think i would have been afraid of sleeping alone anyway..)  anyway this was the van in which we got our first dinner in Germany. hahah roasted chicken and potato salat! super delicious. i dig german potato salad! they are just so sour. hahaha  the half chicken which i shared with swee foo..  our beds! i love the room! it was so "ikea" hahahand really clean and nice:)  me looking really jet lagged and tired. but i went online for a while using swee foo's laptop. I SLEPT AT FREAKING 6 PM! omg. gute nacht! XOXO 4:32 AM
yoooooo! greetings from Germany to everyone! thanks for coming to the airport to send me off!i was really touched to see so many of u and all ur gifts! didnt have time to read them yet but i will soon! so after i left u guys i was rushing to the boarding gate cos i was so damn late already. it was so far away! like practically another end of the airport! and i was so worried the whole time cos i keep thinking that the plane will fly off without me! but luckily i was the last few there and the plane hasnt flew off yet. phew ok but the plane was so freaking uncomfortable! all australians/germans( and i cant help imaginign how racist they all are) hahah ok maybe i am the racist one for thinking likr that. adn it was so weird. i seriously think we were the only two asians on the whole entire flght. and the seats were so narrow! yes even for me!it was such an uncomforatble flight, worsen by the fact that we were sitttign beside this old lady from france who could not speak any german or even english.. sians. damn pissed off cos the the movie i was watching just switched off halfway and they annouced that there was a problem with the system.. so no more movies! omg and i couldnt get to sleeep. so it was damn boring! luckily i found my ipod in my bag after rummaging through my bag for a good 30 min and it was my entertainment for most of the flight. ok got to go... will update soon! ok. crosss number ten out. today=sat. last night/ chance to go. so :(:(:( warum sind jeder nicht frei?? sigh.. anyway maybe the reason why the fact that i am leaving hasnt sunk in is because nobody has actually made me feel like i am leaving. welll its good to see that its life as usual for everyone. i feel so lost.i need someone to tell me what to do.. feeel like i am packing for some distant trip. maybe it will only hit me two weeks after i left that i am in germany.. oh wellssss. LOSE WEIGHT( although i know its impossible but i just wrote it for the sake of writing it. 2. learn how to cook chicken rice! 3. revise my german! its so rusty, its corroded. 4. cut my hair, do mani, pedi and trim my eyebrows (all to satisfy my need for 5 months) 5.take passport photo 6. learn how to wash my bra 7.research on places to go in germany and please find out more abt germany and not seem so suaku when i am there! 8. buy a new book to read on the 13 hr flight! 9. one last dinner at chomp chomp/ old airport/ golden mile or anyway where there is good food la. i want oyster omelette, HOKKIEN MEE, satay and bbq stingray! 10. zouk! 1 last time! i miss snowballs! and a jaegerbomb would be nice.. so i can compare... wahahaha 11. buy a pair of shades omg! been going on abt it for damn long but i cant find one smalll enough to fit my face. sigh.. 12. have a nice dinner with my family :) 13. have a nice farewell dinner with everyone! doesnt have to be everyone tgt at the same time but it'll be nice to have dinner and have sort of like a closure? and a proper farewell thing? not sure what i want exactly too.. yikes. but with only 8 days left and so many things left to do, i am not sure i have even the time for it..sigh i dunno why i am making it sound like i am dying but u know u never know what might happen! in case its the last meal or sth... ok touchwood. ALYCIA CHUA! YOU ARE ONLY GOING FOR 5 MONTHS!
